02/05 — SERVICES

Six ways a wireless engagement usually starts.

All six measure an environment that already exists. Which one you need depends on what the network is doing wrong, and whether anyone has measured it yet. If the network has not been built, that is predictive design instead — a different engagement.

  • Wi-Fi health checkFor when something is wrong but nobody has quantified it. A fast read on an existing network — coverage, interference, channel plan, retry and error rates — and where it is actually failing. You receive a prioritised findings summary with the measurements behind each one.
  • Passive site surveyFor mapping what the environment is really doing without depending on any one client device. A survey adapter walks the floor recording what is heard — signal, noise, co-channel contention, neighbouring networks — producing heatmaps of measured coverage rather than modelled coverage. Appropriate when you need an honest baseline of an existing deployment.
  • Active site surveyFor when the question is what users actually experience, not what the RF looks like. A device associates to the production network and measures throughput, roaming behaviour, packet loss and latency zone by zone. Appropriate before signing off a deployment, or when users report problems the passive data does not explain.
  • Post-install validation surveyFor proving the installed network meets the requirement it was designed to. Measurement after install, device in hand, zone by zone, against the stated design target — not against a generic threshold. You receive pass/fail evidence per area and a punch list of anything that does not meet it.
  • RF interference investigationFor intermittent problems that coverage maps cannot explain. Spectrum analysis identifies non-Wi-Fi energy and interference sources — and distinguishes genuine RF interference from capacity, configuration or wired-side faults, so the fix addresses the real cause.
  • Wireless troubleshooting & remediationFor environments that need the problem fixed, not just documented. Diagnosis of an existing wireless network followed by the corrective work — channel and power correction, AP placement changes, configuration remediation — and re-validation afterwards to confirm the change worked.

How scope is set

03/05 — SCOPING

There is no flat rate, because there is no standard building.

Scope and cost are driven by what the site actually demands. Four things determine it:

  • Facility size, square footage, and the number of access points involved.
  • Site type — office, industrial, campus, warehouse, healthcare, or outdoor environment.
  • Geographic location and travel requirements.
  • Level of detail required — health check, passive or active survey, validation survey, or troubleshooting plus remediation.

We would rather scope this accurately than quote a number that has to be revised once someone sees the building. Describe the environment and we will tell you what the work actually involves.
