Case File — Composite Record, Illustrative

Engineering & Infrastructure

Every network we design has a case file. Here is what’s inside one.

Five stages. One recurring cycle. The physics of the space, measured — not assumed.

DESIGN MEASURE VALIDATE CORRECT MONITOR

“Coverage is a claim until someone walks the space with the meter running. We don’t sell the claim. We run the cycle.”

DESIGN → MEASURE → VALIDATE → CORRECT → MONITOR — and back to DESIGN when the building changes, because it always does.

Case 24-0387

Before a single access point ships, the space is already modeled.

We build a predictive RF model from the architectural drawings — construction materials, ceiling heights, mechanical rooms, shielded suites — before a device count is finalized or a purchase order is cut. In this file, the model caught a conflict early: the specified AP-11 position fell inside the imaging suite’s Faraday-shielded enclosure. It moved on paper, at no cost, three weeks before drywall. The model decides what gets specified, not a preferred vendor — the same independence that governs our technology partner ecosystem.

Predictive coverage model, ambulatory care wing — 340,000 sq ft, reinforced concrete construction, three lead-lined imaging suites. Modeled before any hardware was ordered.

Then someone walks the space with the meter running.

A predictive model is a hypothesis. We validate it in the field with a full RF site survey — signal strength, noise floor, channel utilization, measured device-in-hand, zone by zone, after install. Two of six zones in this file came back below threshold on the first pass. That’s not a failure of the design. It’s the measurement doing its job.

Post-install validation walk, Zones 1–6, 214 measurement points, 2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz.

Exhibit C / Stage 03 — Validate

Coverage without proof of capacity is a rendering, not a network.

Capacity validation under simulated peak load, three device classes, six zones. Zone 4 exceeded its roaming handoff target under simulated peak load.

When the measurement disagrees with the model, the model loses.

1 — AP-09, relocated 11 ft NE — after Zone 4 handoff failure. See Exhibit C.
2 — AP-04, raised 9→10.5 ft AFF — ceiling-tile conflict found during install.
3 — AP-11, omni swapped for directional patch — Grid C4 wall loss exceeded model by 4 dB. See Exhibit A.

Field corrections, redlined against the original design — three revisions, one measured cause each.

Exhibit E / Stage 05 — Monitor

Networks drift. The measurement doesn’t end at handoff.

Firmware updates. Tenants move walls. Device counts grow past what the original design assumed. We leave a network under active monitoring — TekFidelityIQ tracks uptime, roaming success, interference, and capacity headroom continuously, and flags drift before a user notices it. On day 268, capacity headroom crossed threshold in the imaging wing — the same wall, the same antenna, first flagged in Exhibit A. The file reopened. Not a new project — the same cycle, back at DESIGN.

The practice, plainly.

Enterprise Wi-Fi and wireless network design. RF site surveys, predictive and post-deployment. Network performance validation. Infrastructure architecture. Network intelligence and monitoring. Root-cause analysis when something that used to work stops working. High-density venue design for healthcare, education, hospitality, and warehousing environments where the physics of the space is unforgiving and the cost of guessing is measured in downtime. This is where TekFidelity started, and it remains the practice with the deepest evidence behind every recommendation we make. When the infrastructure question turns out to be one part of a larger modernization decision, this work runs alongside our technology strategy practice. When it’s one workstream inside a larger initiative with its own governance and timeline, our program and project leadership practice keeps it accountable to the rest of the program.

Bring us the building. We’ll bring the file.
